Like all parents, my husband and I were ecstatic about having a baby. The first thing you want to do is make sure that you have all the must-have baby items in place to be prepared for the little one. Our strategy was simple, we made two baby product categories- all the essential products with a safety guarantee and other things that we could get as hand-me-downs, like toys and onesies.
We were very particular about the crib but another baby item that we spent a lot of time doing our research on was a baby monitor. We wanted to make sure that we could get a monitor that would run even without any WiFi, or so to say, something that is reliable. Digital privacy is critical to me and my husband, so storing footage was not really a very big concern.
Long chats with friends who had recently had babies narrowed down the options and took us to the Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor. It is now priced at $166 but was originally a whopping $230. And, for very good reason. This product had over 15,000 five star reviews on Amazon. Of course, this is the product that we bought because of impressive features like:
- Reliable night vision
- Room temperature monitor
- Superb zoom feature, even in the night mode
- Unbelievable battery life
- We have been using it for 5 months now and can safely say that it is one of the best investments that we made.
