- Give your baby ample fluids

2 - Breastfeed
Breastfeeding is one of the simplest and the most effective ways to protect your baby’s health. As long as your baby is breastfed, he/she is getting all the antibodies, nutrients and the natural immunities. Breastfed babies are more immune and fall sick rarely when compared to formula fed babies.
3 - Practice good hygiene
It is always a good practice to maintain hygiene and keep the place indoors and surroundings clean and tidy. Always keep a set of wet wipes handy to use it for your baby. Also use sanitizers for hands whenever you want to hold the little one. Make sure you change your baby’s diaper timely.
4 - Don’t smoke
We all know that smoking is bad for yourself as well as others around you. If you are a mom-to-be then make sure you do not smoke and also indulge yourself in passive smoking. Smoking or staying with a person who smokes is equivalent to breathing polluted air from the world’s most polluted cities.
5- Improve the air in your home

You can use air purifiers and every few days you must ventilate your home for sometime by opening the windows and doors.
6- Take care when cooking
We should always be very careful while we are cooking and the cooking smoke or oils need to be exhausted properly. The kitchen should be planned in such a way that it should have proper ventilation and the children should be kept away when you smell some smoke.
7- Cars are not safe
Many people think that being inside the car is much safer than being in traffic and face pollution directly. But this does not hold good and the fact is that the harmful gases and oils from the exhausts can pass straight through the air filters and accumulate in the car cabins which is 20 times more harmful than staying outside.
8- Eat Right
Always make a point to feed the baby healthy to stay healthy and build a strong immune system. Hence you should include fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Also make sure that you exclusively breastfeed your baby at least till six months to pass the antibodies naturally. Eat fruits and vegetables which are high in antioxidants, Vitamin C and Omega fatty acids.
9- Limit outdoors and stay indoors
You should limit yourself going outdoors especially during peak timings of traffic so that you avoid polluted air. Keep your indoors clean and purified with air purifiers and make sure your baby has a safe and protected environment.
